Purpose of the course:
Qualifying learners will be able to integrate their knowledge, understanding and competencies related to occupational health and safety, National Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice to perform a range of plumbing activities. Learners who have achieved this qualification will be able to access further learning opportunities and enhance their prospects for sustainable employment within the construction industry.

Purpose of the course:
The need for this skills programme is to develop coded welders so that South Africa has a pool of these skills to avoid importing them from overseas. The programme is expected to also develop unemployed youth in the country so that they can access opportunities such as shutdown maintenance of plants or become coded welding entrepreneurs and contribute to improvement of livelihoods and economic development.

- LLearners will be able to apply generic health and safety principles to produce welding specimens or components using hand and power tools

Purpose of the course:
The programme focuses on key trade skills expected from a Handyman and prepares him / her for a professional maintenance service that is client focused.

Purpose of the course:
Bricklayers lay bricks, natural and pre-cut stone and other types of building blocks in mortar and other bonding agents to construct, repair and/or make alterations to walls, piers, arches and other structures.

Painting Skills
Purpose of the course:
The course will be led by a teacher or experienced trades person who will show you the details of using painting tools, materials, and chemicals correctly. Also, they will guide you in the skills of surface preparation and applying of coats of paint.

Purpose of the course:
The purpose of this qualification is to prepare a learner to operate as a Solar Photovoltaic Service Technician to be able to perform fault finding (trouble-shooting), identify deficiencies; analyses information, carry out maintenance, repair (including removing and replacing components), and finding a solutions to a range of problems.
